Learn More About The V.I.R.T. Build Process

What distinguishes us from traditional hand-laid boat manufacturers is our cutting-edge Vacuum Infused Resin Technology (V.I.R.T.), utilizing premium gel coats and vinyl ester resins. This state-of-the-art vacuum infusion method, widely acclaimed in the boating and aerospace sectors, ensures unparalleled strength and lightness in our one-piece constructions. By vacuuming down all laminates, core, transom core, and stringers together and infusing them with vinyl ester resin, we achieve an exceptional blend of durability and lightweight design.

Our History

Cayo Boatworks was born from our shared passion for shallow water fishing and our unwavering dedication to skiff design innovation. Our story begins with a desire to redefine the industry, driving us to undertake the entire skiff creation process in-house. From the initial spark of inspiration to the final product, our team utilizes advanced 3D computer-aided design to bring our original concepts to life. We meticulously craft each skiff with precision CNC-cut hull and deck plugs, ensuring every detail meets our exacting standards. With our own molds in hand, we forge ahead, designing custom technical fishing skiffs that prioritize stealth, speed, lightweight construction, and efficiency, setting new benchmarks for performance and elevating the angling experience to new heights.
